I have been working as a Plant Pathologist for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food since 2004. I graduated from the Western University (formally University of Western Ontario) with a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology and, thereafter, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Iowa State University.
At the Ministry, my core responsibilities are addressing critical plant diseases, understanding disease epidemiology, developing disease management strategies, and providing education and advice to farmers on disease prevention and management. As part of my duties, I also address the threat from regulated/quarantine plant pathogens under the Provincial Plant Protection Act.
I take pleasure in mentoring young graduate students and recent graduates in perusing their careers in Plant Health.
