Jeanine West

Dr. Jeanine West (PhytoServ) is a private consultant with clients in both nursery and floriculture greenhouse operations. After a master’s degree in freshwater biology and a doctorate in plant pathology and physiology, Jeanine focussed her career on ornamental horticulture and gained practical experience in container and field nursery production for nearly a decade. Currently, Jeanine’s research focuses on finding sustainable management solutions for environmental concerns, including improving water quality, conserving water on the farm, and ensuring water leaving the farm does not harm the environment. Projects are often in collaboration with Dr. Ann Huber (Soil Resource Group), and include COHA/AAFC funding for testing surface water quality treatments (COHA7) and treating water for re-use and discharge utilizing novel Hybrid Treatment Systems (COHA8, CAAP-OMAFRA 2015-2018).
